Special Education in the Magical World of Art 12-15 Age

This project is an arts-based intervention that aims to help typically developing students in adolescence to develop harmony with their peers and to bond more effectively with their peers with special needs. The creative, emotional and expressive qualities of art can strengthen the social bonds of students in this age group and allow for more meaningful interactions with their peers with special needs.

Under the coordination of the Guidance Research Center, 3 more projects were created with preschool, middle and high school teachers and students. "Special Education in the Magical World of Art (3-6 age, 7-11 age, 15-18 age)" For the specific objectives of our project, work will be carried out only with the members of our project. In activities such as teacher trainings, work will be carried out with 4 project teams in cooperation with RAM.

 

Project Objective:  

"The Unifying Power of Art: Supporting 12-15 Year Old Adolescents' Integration with Special Needs Peers"

The project focuses on giving students in this age group the chance to experience the unifying and empowering effects of the arts, and build a more positive, meaningful and supportive bond with their peers with special needs.

 

Expected results :

*The expected results of the project can be listed as follows:

Increasing Empathy and Understanding: Art projects give students aged 12-15 the opportunity to empathize with and understand their peers with special needs. This allows students to better understand and respect each other.

 

*Strengthening Social Skills: Arts activities support the ability to work, cooperate and communicate in groups. This helps students strengthen their social skills and become more effective in their social environment.

 

*Increasing the Ability to Support Students with Special Needs: The project aims to help students with normal development learn how to support their peers with special needs. Art can provide a creative platform in this support process.

 

*Strengthening Group Bonds: Art projects can contribute to the formation of strong group bonds among students. Working towards a common creative goal can lead students to interact with each other more frequently.

 

Enabling Students to Explore Their Self-identity and Expression: Art gives students the chance to express themselves and explore their forms of expression. This can help students understand their identity and discover their unique talents.
